Sifter Search for Wix · last updated 6 October 2026
The short version. Sifter Search adds a search bar to your Wix site. To do that it reads your site's public content,
such as product names, prices, page text and blog posts, and builds the search index in each visitor's browser. It records what visitors type into the search bar so you can see what they look for,
but it does not record who they are: no names, no emails, no IP addresses. We do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we are
Sifter Search is published by Maio Apps (Turki Alharbi), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Contact: support@maioapps.com.
What Sifter Search reads from your site, and why
Store products: name, description, price, images, category and stock status, so they can appear in search results.
Pages, blog posts and CMS items: titles and text of content that is already public on your site.
Your site's theme colours and fonts, so the search bar matches your design.
Basic account details from Wix: your site's app instance ID, so each site sees only its own figures, and your plan.
The email address you enter for the weekly search report, only if you turn the report on. It is used for nothing else.
You choose which types of content are searchable in the search bar's settings in the Wix editor. Content you turn off is removed from the search index.
What Sifter Search records from visitors
The words typed into the search bar, the day, whether any results were found, and whether a result was clicked. These are kept as daily totals per search term.
We do not record visitors' names, emails, IP addresses or payment details, and we do not use cookies to follow visitors across sites. Please do not ask visitors to type personal information into the search bar.
Where the data lives
The search index is built in each visitor's browser from your site's public content, through Wix. We do not keep a copy of it on our servers.
Search records are stored with Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1), in data centres inside the European Union. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to what is needed to run and support the app.
How long we keep it
The search index lives in the visitor's browser tab. It is refreshed every 5 minutes while the tab is open, and is gone when the tab is closed.
Search records are kept for 12 months, then deleted.
When you uninstall Sifter Search, your search records and report email address are deleted within 30 days.
Payments
Paid plans are bought through Wix, which bills you and handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive only the plan you chose and its status.
What Sifter Search never does
It never sells or shares your site's data or your visitors' searches with anyone.
It never uses your data for advertising or to train AI models.
It never changes your site's content. It only reads it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about your site, or for it to be deleted, by emailing support@maioapps.com. We also act on deletion requests Wix sends us on your or your visitors' behalf.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
